Bile duct cancer, medically known as cholangiocarcinoma, is a rare but aggressive form of cancer that originates in the bile ducts. These ducts are crucial components of the digestive system, responsible for transporting bile—a digestive fluid produced by the liver—into the small intestine to aid in the digestion of fats.
